Charles T. Clark,
Project Manager [Freelance]
Charlie Clark is a freelance writer and fundraising consultant
with 30 years’ experience in the nonprofit world. Recently,
he has written for the magazine Antiques, The
New London Day, and
Spanierman Gallery LLC in Manhattan.
Charlie was a senior development officer at Yale University during
The Yale Campaign, with increasing responsibilities including development
and alumni activities in Asia. He was director of major gifts at
Connecticut College from 2002 to 2004. He has also served as campaign
director for the Connecticut Chapter of The Nature Conservancy
and director of education and development for Connecticut Trust
for Historic Preservation.
During his years as a major and leadership gifts fundraiser, Charlie
participated in the writing, design, and production of numerous
promotional publications and wrote for and edited Connecticut
Preservation News. Also during this period, he guest curated exhibitions on
American art at Montclair Art Museum (NJ), Florence Griswold Museum
(CT), Westport Arts Center (CT) and Tryon Fine Arts Center (NC).
He has a BS in environmental design from the University of Massachusetts,
Amherst, and an MS in historic preservation from the University
of Vermont. He is a life trustee of the Florence Griswold Museum
in Old Lyme (CT), a director of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas
in New Haven (CT) and a member of the Stonington Free Library Capital
Campaign Committee in Stonington (CT). His hobbies include travel,
gardening, cooking, and restoration of old houses.
Currently, Charlie is working with Carol on a major project for
the Columbia University Alumni Association.
