Carol L. Cheney Speaking Engagements
Carol began making educational presentations on good communications
practices at conferences and seminars over 20 years ago, bringing her
experience to a broad audience of school, college and other nonprofit
advancement professionals across the country. She has served on the
faculty of the CASE Summer Institute for Independent Schools 13 times
and on the faculty of the NAIS Admission Workshop six times. A speaker
at the annual CASE/NAIS Independent Schools conference 19 times, she
served as chair of that conference in 1982. She has spoken at AFP meetings,
regional development organizations and seminars sponsored by organizations
ranging from the American Museum Association to the American Bar Association/American
Association of Law Schools. Topics run the gamut from Productive
PR and Publications for the Small Shop to Snoozeletter or
Newslettera slide
presentation and critique. She has amassed a collection of over
3000 slides, which she uses to show audiences examples of printed pieces
and websites from the glorious to the ignominious. Since 1980, Carol
has been on the programs of more than 200 events.
She was awarded CASEs crystal apple for outstanding teaching in
1985 based on evaluations by participants. Since then she has garnered
enough additional high scores to make a crystal fruit salad. Carol says
the opportunity to teach colleagues is one of the most rewarding aspects
of her work and the way she stays abreast of developments in the field
of marketing communications and related fields.
