Background Named one of the 15 best liberal arts colleges in the nation by U.S. News and World Report, Grinnell College sought to create a new suite of recruitment materials that would attract diverse students to the unique attributes of a rigorous liberal arts education in the deep Midwest. We needed to demonstrate the college’s national and international ties; showcase the positive aspects of college life in Iowa; and provide detail about academics and campus living.

Project brief The viewbook captures the school’s essence in three sections: a general introduction complemented by student-written essays; a bridge that uses layering of vivid images to highlight attributes of Iowa and Grinnell; and an updatable supplement with course offerings and practical information. The viewbook is in its fifth year of use (with updates).
