Succession of Bloom in
the Perennial Garden published by Natureworks, LLC.
It's not every day you see Excel spreadsheets "all
dressed up" in a beautifully designed book. Succession
of Bloom in the Perennial Garden by Nancy DuBrule-Clemente
represents a fruitful collaboration of gardening, programming
and graphic design. The book started with Nancy's knowledge
of plants and when they bloom and the idea of charting that
information for garden planners. Tony Clemente's programming
made the bar charts possible and Cheney & Company helped
move the presentation from idea stage to actual book!
The finished product is a beautifully designed,
sturdy 48-page book with
laminated cover, containing lots of great background information,
a common name index and a unique guide for Connecticut garden
designers that visually depicts the succession of blooming
of all kinds of perennial
plants. The book retails for a modest $19.95.
